Cognitive & Educational Assessments
At Spencer Mental Healthcare, we are pleased to now offer comprehensive cognitive and educational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, delivered by our experienced psychologists using the WISC-V, WAIS-IV, WIAT-III, and Vineland-3 measures.
These gold-standard assessments provide insight into an individual’s learning strengths, challenges, and academic performance. They are invaluable for understanding learning profiles, identifying barriers, and guiding support.
Types of Assessments
What Each Measure Does
WISC-V (ages 6 years –16 years 11 months)
WIAT-III (4 years to 50 years)
The WIAT-III is an assessment of academic achievement for individuals aged 4 to 50 years. It evaluates skills in reading, written expression, oral language, and mathematics. The results provide insight into learning strengths and challenges, assisting with the identification of learning disorders and informing educational planning and support.
Vineland-3 (Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales – Third Edition)
The Vineland-3 is an assessment of adaptive behaviour for individuals from birth through 90 years. It measures everyday skills needed for personal and social independence, including communication, daily living, socialisation, and motor skills. The results support diagnosis, intervention planning, and monitoring of developmental progress.
When used together, they provide a detailed picture of how a child thinks and learns
