ADHD/ASD Combined Assessments
Our approach is structured, supportive, and aligned with DSM‑5‑TR guidelines, offering clarity and confidence in the next steps.
Why Consider a combined ADHD/ASD Assessment?
A combined ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment can offer a clearer, more complete understanding of an individual’s strengths, challenges, and support needs. Because ADHD and ASD often overlap (and can sometimes mask one another) assessing them together helps ensure nothing important is missed.
A combined assessment provides:
Accurate clarity – Many people experience traits of both ADHD and ASD. Assessing them side‑by‑side reduces the risk of misdiagnosis or partial diagnosis.
A holistic picture – Understanding attention, executive functioning, social communication, sensory needs, and behavioural patterns together leads to a more meaningful and personalised profile.
Better support planning – When both conditions are explored at once, recommendations for home, school, work, and daily life can be more targeted, practical, and effective.
Reduced stress and repetition – A single, integrated assessment means fewer appointments, less duplication, and a smoother experience for families and individuals.
For many people, a combined ADHD/ASD assessment is the most efficient and informative way to understand their neurodevelopmental profile and access the right supports moving forward.
Our process: ADHD/ASD Combined Assessments for Children (6-18) and Adults (18+)
At Spencer Mental Healthcare, every assessment is tailored to the individual’s age, developmental level, communication abilities, and presenting concerns.
Results are typically available within four to six weeks of receiving all required information.
Comprehensive ADHD/ASD Assessment
- Comprehensive clinical interview with yourself, or (if booking for a child) the child’s parents or guardians.
- Individual assessment.
- Developmental history interview.
- Behavioural observations.
Relevant standardised assessment measures, such as the MIGDAS (Module 3) or the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition (ADOS-2), Conners Comprehensive Behavior Rating Scales (CBRS), Social Responsiveness Scale, Second Edition (SRS-2), Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, Third Edition (Vineland-3), ADHD Child Evaluation (ACE), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V), Conners Continuous Performance Test 3rd Edition (CPT-3), Autism Diagnostic Interview–Revised (ADI-R), and Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults, version 5 (DIVA-5), where clinically indicated.
- Teacher questionnaires and collateral information (where necessary and with consent).
- Review of relevant school reports and supporting documentation.
Comprehensive Diagnostic Report
Following the assessment, your psychologist integrates clinical observations, assessment findings, developmental history, parent and teacher information and/or other collateral information, and supporting documentation into a comprehensive diagnostic report. The report outlines the assessment findings, diagnostic formulation (where appropriate), and practical recommendations tailored to the individual’s needs across home, school, and community settings.
Feedback Session
A feedback appointment is then scheduled to discuss the assessment outcomes, explain the findings, answer questions, and provide evidence-based recommendations for ongoing support, intervention, educational planning, and referrals where required.
Pricing
The fee for this assessment is $3570 and is inclusive of all of the above.
Our fees are aligned with standard pricing in the Wollongong region.
